What is PMS color matching?
PMS color matching in screen printing is the process of creating an ink that matches a specific Pantone color. Pantone colors are standardized color codes that are used by designers, printers, and manufacturers around the world.
There are two main ways to achieve PMS color matching:
- Mixing inks: Screen printing ink manufacturers offer a variety of inks that can be mixed to create a wide range of colors. To match a specific Pantone color, a press-operator will mix the appropriate inks together in the correct proportions.
- Pre-mixed inks: This is the quickest and easiest way to achieve PMS color-matching, but it may not be possible to match every Pantone color with pre-mixed ink.
